Father Bohdan

Today is the Twenty-second Sunday after Pentecost, and the Church reads the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man feasted every day, while at his gate lay a beggar whom even the dogs pitied more than he did. Both died, and their fortunes were reversed. The parable is not about money. It is about whether we see the person beside us while there is still time. Today we also remember Saint Lycinius, Bishop of Angers, who lived in the sixth century, in anxious times. Little is preserved about his life, but even that is enough to see a shepherd who gave himself to his flock. Holiness is seldom loud. More often it shows itself in a person who does not turn away from another's need. Dear brothers and sisters, may this day bring you quiet joy and an attentive heart. May there be someone close by who needs your kindness. May the Lord bless you and your loved ones. Peace be with you.
