Father Bohdan

Today is Tuesday, the 27th of October. We are in the Twenty-second Sunday after Pentecost, and the Church reads the Lord's words that to follow Him means taking up your cross every day. He does not speak of great feats but of something simple: telling the truth instead of a convenient lie, forgiving the one who hurt you, not walking past someone else's trouble. Today the Church remembers Saint Kaleb, the holy king. He ruled the Kingdom of Aksum in Africa from about 514 to 530, and under him this Christian land, which was friendly with Byzantium, reached the height of its power. The authority was great, and so was the responsibility for the people. I imagine he had to choose each day what mattered more: his own advantage or the souls of the living people beside him. Dear friends, may this day bring you quiet joy and the strength to carry your cross without fear. May the Lord bless you and keep you on every path. With love, Father Bohdan.
