Father Bohdan

Today the Gospel offers a short scene: Jesus passes by Levi the tax collector, sitting at the toll booth, and simply says to him: follow Me. And he, leaving everything, rises and follows. Then he invites the Guest into his home, and at the table are those whom no one expected. On this day I remember the venerable martyr Andrew of Crete, a monk who suffered in Constantinople in the eighth century. Little has come down to us about his life, but his feat itself speaks clearly: a man left everything for Christ and remained faithful to Him to the end, even when faithfulness cost him his life. May we too have the quiet courage to hear this call amid ordinary tasks and to answer it simply, like Levi. May God's blessing be with you and with your loved ones on this day.
